Persons who should attend
People who have had no previous experience of operating a lift truck. In addition, operators with limited
operating experience would benefit from this course.

Elementary Driving Techniques
Parking Procedures
End of Shift procedures

Daily Inspection/Take-over procedures
Simple manoeuvres and 90° turns
Hydraulic Systems and Controls
Elementary Load Handling
Charging/Parking Area
Battery Care & Charging
Refuelling a Diesel/Petrol truck
Changing L.P.G. Bottles
Filling L.P.G. bottle from storage tank

Day 3

Charging/Parking area

Daily Inspection/Take-over procedures
Training Area
Engineering Principles, Stability & Safe Working Loads
Weight Assessment
Load Handling – Bulk Stacking - 90° turns where applicable

Refuelling/Recharging truck
Day 4

Stacking and de-stacking in pallet racking - 90° turns where applicable

Certification
An NPORS (National Plant Operators Registration Scheme*)Certificate, will be presented to each
person on successful completion of this course (includes examination). We do, however require
2 passport photographs of each delegate, to enable us to present them with this certificate.
This
course is of standards acceptable to the Health & Safety Executives.

*Each delegate will automatically become members of The National Plant Operators Registration
Scheme. They will be registered on this scheme for a period of three years. When the registration
period is approaching expiry, your company, or operator, will receive a renewal slip. This provides
an option for your company to, either, provide a refresher course or, sign the slip as evidence that
the operator has been accident free over the preceding registration period and has maintained a
good standard.

Course Length
5 days (maximum) - although this course may be reduced to a minimum of 3 days dependant
on the number of trainees attending and relevant experience.

NOTE: This programme has been laid out for the duration of three consecutive days. If more
appropriate, the course instructor can re-arrange the timetable to suit the requirements of the
trainees/company.
