Course Aims
To minimise risks to the health and safety of display screen equipment users and operators

Objectives
By the end of the course, the display screen user or operator will be able to:

Undertake his/her duties in greater safety and, through example and the implementation of safe working
practices, raise the safety consciousness of others.
Identify the hazards associated with the use or operation of a personal workstation

Understand the risks to health and safety arising out of the use or operation of personal workstations
and the steps necessary to avoid them.

Make adjustments to personal workstations and posture and adopt a safe system of work to
minimise risks to health and safety.
Know the importance of reporting to a responsible person: workplace hazards, cases of ill health,
accidents and incidents.


Course Content
Introduction, overview of training session and assessment of workstation activities undertaken by
the participants
Hazards and risks associated with workstation operation and the means of eliminating or controlling them
Practical workstation and posture adjustments
Note: One workstation will be required for every three students.
